On February 27th, 2023, the Wandermere National Forest was quickly and sloppily evacuated and quarantined, resulting in the hospitalization of 5 people.
No official statement regarding this incident has been given, and the National Park Service has been given emergency taxpayer funding to help guard the forest.
They might not tell you why the forest was quarantined, but I will.
